Abstract

Abstract Graduates of healths professions programs need to be able to function in integrated health care delivery systems and demonstrate the ability to provide comprehensive, quality, and cost-effective care as members of an interdisciplinary team. This article describes an interdisciplinary core curriculum based on a transdisciplinary functions model. The curriculum consists of courses and clinical practice experiences encompassing nursing skills and those of other health-related disciplines. A transdisciplinary approach was adopted as a guide for core curriculum development because it illustrates a client-focused care delivery system and is viewed as a cost-effective method to deliver community-based care.
