Abstract

A procedure for synthesizing balanced untransposed overhead three-phase line configurations has been recently presented. Howeve r, such a procedure is based on the simplifying assumption that the soil influence can be described by an impedance matrix with all elements equal. In the present paper we abandon that assumption and model the earth effect via the Dubanton 's approach. In the frame of this more accurate model we show that the realizability of such untransposed balanced line configurations cannot indeed be assured, not even in the low-frequency and high-frequency limiting cases.
