All the patients were hospitalised due to respiratory problems and received CS treatment. The total dose of CS administered was 264–795/mg, which is equivalent to prednisolone. Further, the femoral head collapsed 9–15 months later. Abstract
Background
After contracting COVID-19, many patients develop ‘long COVID syndrome’, and musculoskeletal pain has become a clinical issue. High-dose corticosteroid (CS) treatment can result in osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH).
Case presentation
We report five cases of ONFH following COVID-19 infection recovery. All the patients were hospitalised due to respiratory problems and received CS treatment.
