Abstract
Practical guidelines on clinical nutrition in liver disease from European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN) were updated in 2020. The purpose of this article is to discuss them from clinical cases. The prognostic value of malnutrition is well established but strong recommendations on management are scarce, and many guidelines are based on expert opinion.
