Сlassic vietnamese poetry of the Ly–Tran epoch

Abstract

The core problem of the Vietnamese culture and in some sense civilization, isits historical bond with the phenomena of the Chinese art, script and thought.The present work discusses the interconnection or influence of the classical Chinese poetry mostly of the Tan and Song era on the rime, prosody and most of all metrology of the Vietnamese verse of the period. The time when this genre was born, developed and matured and its rules shaped in full accordance with the classical model. Specifics of this process is the main content of the first part of this paper. The second is the analyses of some Vietnamese masterpieces in the contextof the classical poetic tradition.
