Penitencia: el verdadero camino hacia la paz

Abstract

Peace has an enormous value to society; however, history has taught us that it is not easy to achieve. A change is needed to carry out this peacebuilding project. This article started from the premise that change must begin in the people themselves in order to spread to the whole society. We recognize this change in what the Christian tradition calls penance. It involves a process that includes acceptance of being a sinner, sincere recognition of one’s faults, and willingness to accept spiritual therapy or spiritual medicine. Man cannot heal himself but needs divine grace.
