Abstract

On Nineteenth-Century Translation in Spain: Bio-Bibliographic Notes about Francisco Alejandro Fernel This article focuses on the figure of Francisco Alejandro Fernel, a versatile character who was part of the group of translators that shone in Andalusia the first half of the nineteenth century. The main objective of our work is, first of all, to make a biographical sketch of Fernel that will help us to know data that allow us to understand their interests in the field of translation and the context in which it was carried out. Secondly, we will focus on the analysis of the translations we know to justify the importance of his figure in the situation of nineteenth-century translation in Spain.
