Abstract
Fever with mediastinal lymphadenopathy warrants evaluation for various infective and noninfective causes. Kikuchi–Fujimoto disease (KFD) is a rare disorder of lymph node enlargement which is also known as histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenopathy.
We present the case report of a 35-year-old female presenting with fever and significant weight loss and the evaluation of the case up to the conclusive diagnosis of KFD.
KFD generally involves young females. The diagnosis can be confirmed by histopathological examination of lymph node which also classifies the stage of the disease. The treatment of KFD is generally conservative and it is a self-limiting disease.
