Hektik pur: zu den unflektierten nachgestellten Adjektiven im Deutschen und zu deren Wiedergabe im Italienischen

Abstract

Abstract Englisch: The paper focuses on a peculiar German nominal construction which contains a certain type of uninflected postnominal adjectives that are used attributively. These adjectives have a semantically intensifying function as in for example Hektik pur and they constitute a small closed list (brutal, light, pur, total, satt). The central aim of this paper consists in presenting and evaluating different proposals for the translation of this particular German construction into Italian on the basis of an empirical analysis of concrete examples. Furthermore, the article analyses how the construction under study is treated in current German grammatical writing, discusses its syntax and offers some novel theses on its semantics.
