From the Editor

Abstract

I am happy to introduce the five articles within issue 38 number 2. In the first of the five articles entitled, “Assessing Identity and Access Management Process Maturity: First Insights from the German Financial Sector,” authors Andre Schrimpf, Andreas Drechsler, and Konstantinos Dagianis develop an Identity and Access Management (IAM) maturity assessment model. This model was applied to four organizations in Germany’s financial industry, demonstrating its comprehensiveness, transparency and traceability to relevant IAM frameworks used as sources, and accessibility. The second article entitled “The contribution of ICT adoption by local governments to sustainability – Empirical evidence from Poland,” by Ewa Ziemba, investigates how information and communication technologies (ICT) adoption by local governments contributes to sustainability. The results reveal that ICT quality, information culture, and ICT management of local government units have a significant positive impact on sustainability. The next article, “Blockchain Adoption from an Interorganizational Systems Perspective – A MixedMethods Approach,” by Flynn Werner, Marcus Basalla, Johannes Schneider, Demelza Hayes, and Jan vom Brocke, investigates the influence of blockchain technology adoption on a company’s competitive performance from an interorganizational systems perspective. The results show that blockchain technology can increase competitive performance by providing traceability and verifiability of transactions, as well as the creation of trust without the use of costly intermediaries. In the fourth article entitled, “Thirty Six Years of Information Systems Management: A Bibliometric and Thematic Analysis, authors by Babak Babak, Hamed Jafarzadeh, and Celina Olszak present a bibliometric analysis of Information Systems Management over the past 36 years. A semantic analysis of keywords in published articles highlights key themes and uncovers the most influential trends. Finally, the last article in this issue, “Exploring the determinants of intention to use P2P mobile payment in Spain,” by Francisco LiébanaCabanillas, Sebastian Molinillo, and Arnold Japutra, proposes a conceptual model, based on the theory of reasoned action, to evaluate intention to use peer-to-peer mobile payment in Spain. The results of an empirical evaluation of this model show that usefulness, subjective norms, and personal innovativeness have a direct influence on intention to use.
