Forest and other land cover assessment in Nepal using Collect Earth

Abstract

Remote sensing is a common approach for monitoring land-use and land use change to quantify the impacts on the Earth's system. Over the past decades, significant changes in the remote sensing field have made land monitoring more cost-effective and technically feasible. Access of moderate to high-resolution satellite imageries such as Landsat, Sentinel and open source software have facilitated the remote sensing users to monitor land resources and provided the end-use products.
