Abstract
Background: Ultrasonographic imaging to record changes in peripheral arterial diameter associated with Flow mediated dilatation or Low flow mediated constriction is routinely used to assess various facets of vascular endothelial function. Imaging poses many challenges including requirement of costly ultrasound machines, trained manpower to perform imaging and effortintensive steps to analyse the images subsequently using manual or automated methods. We tested the feasibility and validity of using an imaging-free technology to record resting arterial diameters of brachial and radial arteries.

期刊介绍:
Artery Research is the official journal of the Association for Research into Arterial Structure and Physiology (ARTERY) which promotes the advancement of knowledge and dissemination of information concerning the pathophysiology, epidemiology, detection, investigation and treatment of arterial structure and function. The journal publishes original research articles, review articles, perspectives, case-studies, letters to the Editor, short communications and images. All submitted material is subject to a strict peer-review process.
