Abstract
EnglishFor this article we carry out an investigation that allows us to find out if the names of the types of tourism are the same in the countries that use Spanish as their official language. For this end, as a first step, we extract—with the Sketch Engine program—the types of tourism that appear in the latest versions of the official tourism guides of Spain, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, as well as in two tourism guides of the World Tourism Organization. Then, in order to examine if the content in types of tourism of these official guides is complete or not, we include other types of tourism compiled in research articles referred to in this article. Finally, in order to know the validity and common use or not of the 98 types of tourism that are part of this analysis, for all of them, we carry out a textual search in referential newspapers and on specialized websites about tourism concerning these five countries.
