Abstract

The Jandaira Formation samples collected in the central region of the Potiguar Basin show a diverse Late Cretaceous ostracod fauna. The genera Cytherella, Bairdoppilata, Triebelina, Paracypris, Fossocytheridea, Ovocytheridea, Perissocytheridea, Protocosta, Soudanella, and Leguminocythereis indicate a marginal marine environment during the Santonian–Campanian.
