Rheumatic Heart Disease in Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia - A Double Burden

Abstract

Homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia is a very rare disorder. Rheumatic heart disease is a common disease in developing countries. The simultaneous occurrence of these two conditions in the same patient is extremely rare. We describe a patient who had both these conditions and discuss the management issues.
