Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the effect on growth performance and intestinal histomorphology of the Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) fed diets with black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) prepupae meal (BSF) and mealworm (Tenebrio molitor) larvae meal (TM) substituted for fish meal instead. Six diets with BSF and TM at three different levels (10%, 20% and 30%) and control diet were prepared. Test diets were respectively encoded as Control, TM10, TM20, TM30, BSF10, BSF20 and BSF30. Fish (34.17±0.88g) were randomly placed in triplicate (30 for each) into 7 treatment groups in 500 L fiberglass tanks (112x112 cm square with depths 40 cm). Fish were fed by hand 2.5% of body weight three times at day for 90 days. Results demonstrated that the growth perfromance and intestinal histomorphology were significantly affected by black soldier fly (BSF) prepupae meal substitution (p
