The Need to Update the Mechanisms of Government Regional Policy

Abstract

ABSTRACT The present interview with Eugenia Buharova discusses government policy as it relates to spatial development. Professor Bukharova comments on the advantages and disadvantages of the Soviet and market-oriented approaches to the development of the territories and analyzes the prospects for creating the Yenisei Siberia macroregion. The general prospects of Russia’s new spatial development strategy are also considered.
