Ming News Addendum

Abstract

Two conferences were held in honor of Professor Timothy Brook’s retirement at the University of British Columbia. The first concerned religion and local society, particularly the work that Professor Brook has done on Buddhism and the Ming. The second focused on statecraft. Both conferences included a wide array of papers beyond the scope of the Ming, so that below we only include the papers that can be construed as directly addressing the Ming.
