Abstract

Samuel Araujo is Professor of Ethnomusicology at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he coordinates the Ethnomusicology Lab (www.musica.ufrj.br/etnomusicologia) and has headed the Musicology Department. His articles and book reviews have appeared in periodicals such as the Latin American Music Review, Yearbook for Traditional Music, Ethnomusicology, Current Musicology, and Diogenes.
