Historical Study on the Construction of the Shenguang Laser Fusion Facilities

Abstract

: The advanced comprehensive laser fusion test platforms at the Shenguang Ⅰ , Shenguang Ⅱ , and Shenguang Ⅲ facilities were successively built according to the research on inertial confinement fusion in China, which can be traced back to the mid-1960s. Based on existing literature, past recollections, and professional interviews, the construction history of laser fusion experimental facilities in China is comprehensively determined from an engineering history perspective, and the related historical experiences are summarized.
