Abstract

This article introduces apprenticeships as a new path into the profession. It illustrates how organisations have been using the level 3 apprenticeship in Library, Information and Archive Services (LIAS) effectively as a tool to aid recruitment of new talent, a solution to ever tightening recruitment budgets and a way to facilitate closing skills gaps.
