Les aléas de la pratique : le Plan Rhône à l’épreuve des riskscapes d’inondation du Rhône-aval

Abstract

. This case study relates to the downstream section of the river Rhône (France). We highlight the diversity of inhabitants’ reactions to risk, producing different riskscapes . On one side, we show that inhabitants perceive a plurality of interlocking risks which they prioritise differently from public actors; on the other side, the former consider diverse and adaptive temporalities that differ from public actors ones. The analysis shows the limits of public action regarding the expected environmental and social shift of flood risk policies.
