Abstract
A new name Cirsium vickifunkiae, is proposed to replace the illegitimate later homonym C. validum. According to the Art. 7.11 of Shenzhen Code, the typification of the basionym Carduus validus was not correctly proposed by Ackerfield et al. in 2020. Therefore, a lectotypification of the Greene’s name is here given.
