Abstract
The aim of this text is to provide elements to support the narrative approach as a methodology to carry out multidisciplinary and collective research within the Social Sciences in cross–border spaces. To this end, we reflect on the experience of collective research in the research project “The Chiapas–Guatemala border: territory, problems and social dynamics”, whose focus of study was the experience of daily life in the various territories that make up the Chiapas–Guatemala border. We explain the development of the research and the difficulties we face in the process and, primarily, we focus on discussing two fundamental axis: the border as an object of research, and narratives as a methodological proposal. We share a collective learning experience in order to inspire and foster debate on multidisciplinary research in border contexts.
