Mortalidad por desnutrición en menores de cinco años. Un análisis de las inequidades Colombia. 2003-2012

Abstract

This study investigates a problem of high relevance in the world context: mortality due to malnutrition. In Colombia, this situation is focused on children under 5 and people over 65 years old. The research showed a clear link between mortality due to malnutrition and socioeconomic and territorial inequalities. This was expressed in indicators of poverty, land use, mining, and unequal development of territories, as well as in the differential behavior of the rates and the cluster configuration of municipalities with high and low malnutrition mortality rates, especially among children under five years old.
