Abstract

El lenguaje muestra una determinada vision de la vida y el mundo. Las personas con discapacidad han soportado durante siglos un lenguaje ofensivo y peyorativo asociado a su condicion. El articulo se centra en la terminologia latina relativa a las distintas discapacidades, teniendo en cuenta la referencia moderna del vocabulario aplicado a las personas con discapacidad.En concreto, y partiendo de las fuentes literarias y juridicas grecolatinas, se analizan los terminos usados para referir la discapacidad y la imagen que proyectaban los discapacitados en el Mundo Antiguo
