Abstract

Many surgical techniques are available for bridging peripheral nerve defects. Autologous nerve grafts are the current gold standard for most clinical conditions. There are areas of interest in the anatomy, physiology, metabolism, phylogeny, and limb growth tropism of peripheral nerves.
