Abstract
Physicians may head off allegations of negligence by developing a comprehensive understanding of why patients sue physicians and by appreciating what activities commonly lead to patient injury. With this knowledge, physicians can develop risk management strategies to reduce the likelihood of being named in a negligence lawsuit.
