While the simple cleaning process with chemical sanitizers reached a reduction of indoor microbial contamination as high as 40%, the use of the photocatalytic films lowered the microbial pollution, measured via ATP-bio-luminescence, to values ≥ 94%, ensuring much safer indoor conditions for people travelling.
