Abstract

Kidney beans were effectively pyrolyzed to produce N-carbon dots (N-CDs) with bright blue fluorescence. The mono-step pyrolytic synthesis was easy to carry out and resulted in water soluble green N-CDs with higher quantum yield 40.61%.
