Comparison between incidentally and clinically detected prostate cancer: implications for prostate cancer screening programs and focal therapy.

Abstract

Incidental prostate cancer is frequently observed in radical cystoprostatectomy. The majority are considered clinically insignificant. The relationship between clinically and incidentally detected cancer is uncertain. However, the results of the analysis of incidentally detected prostate cancer could be of paramount importance when trying to understand the type of cancers discovered in screening programs and/or identify the ideal candidates for focal therapy.
