Abstract

Health care educators are natural problem solvers. They have visibility in all departments. They have links to administration that can be nonthreatening to departments in trouble. Sometimes education and training are the answer to a problem. So educators get those calls. To succeed, educators need an orderly approach to problem-solving situations with an eye on what is at risk. They need to enter every problem-solving situation with every skill possible to reduce that risk. Correct focus, correct data, formation of alternatives, implementation, contingency planning, and evaluation are the major elements of those skills. Good luck out there.
