Designing for patients.

Abstract

In February 1992, Health Services Management (HSM) readers were invited to submit details of a proposed project that needed a designer. HSM teamed up with design consultants, the PDI Group, which offered 10,000 pounds-worth of design and project management to the reader submitting the most challenging design problem. Such was the quality of the entrants that two prizes were awarded, divided equally between The Eric Burden Community Unit at Littlemore Hospital, Oxford, and the Perth Royal Infirmary Community Unit project.
