Abstract

The proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), the auxiliary protein of DNA polymerase delta and epsilon, is involved in DNA replication and repair. This protein forms a homotrimeric structure which, encircling DNA, loads the polymerase on the DNA template.
