Abstract

Tropoelastin is composed of alternating hydrophobic and hydrophilic domains. A hydrophobic peptide, VGVAPG, has been shown to be a ligand for a 67-kDa elastin cell surface receptor expressed on fetal bovine auricular chondrocytes and ligamentum nuchae fibroblasts.
