Abstract

Both parathyroid hormone (PTH) and calcitonin (CT) can increase the concentration of cyclic 3',5' adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) in fetal rat bone in organ culture. Moreover, dibutyryl cAMP (dbcAMP) can both stimulate and inhibit 45Ca release from such bones depending on dose and experimental conditions.
