Abstract
The description of a furnace for nuclear magnetic resonance experiments between room temperature and 1300°C is given. It is easy to construct, and has an option for control of the atmosphere surrounding the sample or application of a uniaxial stress to the sample. The power requirement for operation at 1000°C is 130 W. Sufficient external cooling is provided by the laboratory environment.
