Abstract
In this paper, we present a method for immunity testing of medical devices against low-frequency (100 kHz to 360 kHz) inductive consumer wireless power transfer (WPT) systems. This method uses a windowing method with a small radiating loop antenna, similar to the method recommended in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) Mil-Std-461G:2015 - RS101 and IEC 61000-4-39:2017 standards. We present an example test setup to illustrate the implementation of the method and compare the magnetic field characteristics of the signal emulated with a small radiating loop antenna with those generated by representative WPT systems. Additionally, we demonstrate the method through testing on a medical device susceptible to interference from consumer WPT systems.
