Abstract
Purpose: To introduce a novel ILM peeling technique for S2 and S3 retinoschisis, termed 'Personalised ILM peeling', which selectively peels the ILM only within the schisis area while minimising postoperative complications.
Methods: 10 eyes from 9 patients with MRS underwent 'Personalised ILM peeling'. Preoperatively, the OCT radial scans, 3D Wide scans and retinal thickness map were comprehensively evaluated to delineate the extent of the schisis area and determine the specific region requiring ILM peel. Pre- and postoperative visual acuity, retinal thickness, including retinoschisis height, and visual field were analyzed.
Results: No case of recurrence were observed during a follow-up period exceeding 24 months. No Postoperative complications occurred in any of the 10 cases. Compared with preoperative measurements, postoperative visual acuity and retinal thickness, including retinoschisis height, demonstrated significant improvement.
Conclusions: Personalised ILM peeling is proposed as a novel, minimally invasive surgical approach for MRS. Many cases with high myopia are accompanied by visual field defects and it is expected that this will avoid damage to the fragile retina and nerve fibres.

Eye seeks to provide the international practising ophthalmologist with high quality articles, of academic rigour, on the latest global clinical and laboratory based research. Its core aim is to advance the science and practice of ophthalmology with the latest clinical- and scientific-based research. Whilst principally aimed at the practising clinician, the journal contains material of interest to a wider readership including optometrists, orthoptists, other health care professionals and research workers in all aspects of the field of visual science worldwide. Eye is the official journal of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
Eye encourages the submission of original articles covering all aspects of ophthalmology including: external eye disease; oculo-plastic surgery; orbital and lacrimal disease; ocular surface and corneal disorders; paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus; glaucoma; medical and surgical retina; neuro-ophthalmology; cataract and refractive surgery; ocular oncology; ophthalmic pathology; ophthalmic genetics.
