Abstract
Metal-containing materials promising for wound dressings were obtained using a collagen-chitosan matrix (ColChit), quercetin (Q), and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) synthesized using an environmentally friendly metal-vapor synthesis (MVS). Hybrid systems were prepared from collagen and chitosan modified with a silver nanoparticle-quercetin conjugate (AgNPs@Q) dissolved in glutamic acid solution, followed by gelation and lyophilization. The composition and electronic state of the metal in the resulting porous ColChitAgNPs@Q sponges were studied using XPS, TEM, and SEM/EDS. It was established that AgNPs are distributed uniformly throughout the bulk of the material and the metal is in the Ag0 and Ag+ states.
