Abstract
Semiconductor oxide materials have demonstrated significant potential in ultrafast laser device owing to their broadband spectral response, high damage resistance, and excellent physicochemical stability. In this work, we prepared a rutile-phase titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanofilm, experimental results show that by integrating the saturable absorber (SA) into a ring fiber cavity, stable conventional soliton mode-locking operation was achieved, with a center wavelength of 1559.49 nm, a 3 dB spectral bandwidth of 16.60 nm, a pulse duration of 1.01 ps, a fundamental repetition rate of 22.1 MHz, and a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 68.61 dB in the radio frequency (RF) spectrum. The prepared TiO2 exhibits a modulation depth of 5.96% and a saturation intensity of 0.7149 MW/cm2. This study verifies the feasibility of rutile-phase TiO2 as an efficient and stable SA for 1.5 μm band ultrafast fiber laser.
