Abstract
Kinetic evidence is presented for the fast (not rate-determining) character of the elementary steps of activation of aryl halide, norbornene, and arylacetylene in their three-component coupling to form bicyclo[2.2.1]heptane derivatives in the presence of the palladium catalyst. The data obtained indicate that the reaction rate is determined by the processes of catalyst formation—deactivation that occur outside the main catalytic cycle.
