Abstract
Enantiomeric pairs of palladium complexes of various types were synthesized using l- and d-camphor benzylimines. The antitumor activity of new palladium complexes and comparison compounds was studied against tumor-derived cells (SH-SY5Y, MCF-7, A549, and SW-480) and non-transformed cells (HEK-293 and DF-1). The interrelation between the stereochemistry and the cytotoxic activity of palladium complexes based on enantiomeric bornane ligands was established. The obtained data confirmed the importance of enantiomeric purity of palladium complexes in the development of candidate antitumor agents with an improved therapeutic profile.
