Abstract
An algorithm for determining the effective mechanical properties of a two-phase composite material is considered. A two-parameter Mooney–Rivlin material is taken as the matrix, with inclusions of a linearly elastic material as the filler. The results of determining the mechanical properties of the matrix from experimental data are presented. The effective mechanical properties of the particle-reinforced composite material are determined by solving the problem of uniaxial tension of a specimen using the finite element method. The constitutive relations of the resulting composite material are described by the hyperelastic Mooney–Rivlin model. The influence of the filler volume fraction on the mechanical properties of the material is investigated. It is shown that with increasing volume fraction of the filler, the value of the initial shear modulus of the composite material also increases.
