Abstract

Health promoting prisons is an approach that emphasises structural and whole of system response to health promotion in correctional settings. Three decades on since its initiation in 1995, progress in the health promoting prisons agenda has remained limited. This commentary takes a strengths-based stance to provide some insights from the COVID-19 pandemic to help progress the health promoting prisons agenda.
