Abstract
Photodetectors (PDs), which are core components of modern optoelectronic systems, are widely used in medical diagnostics and biosensing. To meet the demands of next-generation optoelectronic technologies for high performance, low cost, and portability, perovskite materials have emerged as highly promising light-absorbing materials due to their excellent optoelectronic properties, solution processability, and compositional flexibility. Recently, significant performance improvements in perovskite-based PDs have been achieved through various strategies. This review systematically summarizes and analyzes performance enhancement strategies for perovskite PDs. First, the fundamental working mechanisms and key performance parameters of PDs are introduced. Then, four core strategies for performance improvement are discussed in detail. In material preparation, methods for regulating the growth of high-quality light absorption layers are reviewed. In light management, technical approaches such as plasmonic effects, optical microcavities, and nanostructures for enhancing light-harvesting efficiency are summarized. In interface engineering, the impacts of energy level alignment, interface passivation, and charge transport layer optimization on device performance are analyzed. Concerning stability enhancement, the impacts of crystal growth control, additive engineering, and encapsulation technology on device performance are summarized and analyzed. The review further examines the representative applications of perovskite PDs. Finally, key challenges such as stability and large-area fabrication are discussed, along with perspectives on future development. This review aims not only to summarize the performance optimization strategies for perovskite PDs but also to provide a roadmap for their future development and exploration of applications in industrial manufacturing, daily life, and healthcare.
