Abstract
To find compounds with highly spin-polarized electronic structure and spin-selective conductivity, the spin-dependent band structure of two series of chiral single-walled silver nanotubes (5, \({{n}_{2}}\)) and (10, \({{n}_{2}}\)) has been calculated by the relativistic cylindrical wave method. Using models of the dependence of electron tunneling through potential barriers on the mutual orientation of the electron spin and barrier chirality vectors, it has been established that four Ag compounds (5, 1), (5, 4), (10, 2), and (10, 7) can be used as materials for creating spin currents and elements of molecular spintronics. For these tubes, high spin selectivity of conductivity is due to high spin polarizability, when the spin density of α-electrons at the Fermi level is several times higher than the density of β-electrons.
