Abstract
Against the backdrop of digital-intelligent transformation, exploring the effects and mechanisms of the spatial correlation network of digital-real economy integration on the synergy of pollution and carbon emission reduction holds significant practical implications for promoting the coordinated advancement of ecological civilization construction and high-quality development. Using the modified gravity model, social network analysis, and econometric regression model, this study examines the influence mechanism of the spatial correlation network of digital-real economy integration in China's provinces on the synergy of pollution and carbon emission reduction from 2011 to 2022. The results indicate that: ① The spatial correlation of digital-real economy integration in China exhibited an increasingly complex "multi-center driven" network structure, presenting a layered differentiation pattern that decreased from east to west and from inner to outer regions. ② The spatial correlation network of digital-real economy integration could significantly promote the synergy of pollution and carbon emission reduction. Compared with that in the eastern region, non-pilot provinces, and service-oriented provinces, the spatial correlation network of digital-real economy integration in the central-western regions, pilot provinces, and production-oriented provinces exerted a stronger promoting effect on the synergy of pollution and carbon emission reduction. ③ The spatial correlation network of digital-real economy integration exerted positive impacts on the synergy of pollution and carbon emission reduction by promoting technological progress, driving economic agglomeration, and reducing energy intensity. Both human capital investment and public environmental attention strengthened the promoting role of the spatial correlation network of digital-real economy integration in the synergy of pollution and carbon emission reduction. The findings provide theoretical support and practical references for formulating collaborative emission reduction strategies and achieving the synergy of pollution and carbon emission reduction.
