Abstract
Transition-metal-catalyzed asymmetric Büchner reactions serve as powerful synthetic approaches to access various chiral seven-membered ring molecules. A series of chiral cyclohepta[b]indoles are practically and atom-economically constructed in moderate to excellent yields with outstanding enantioselectivities by a copper-catalyzed asymmetric Büchner reaction between diynes and aryl amines via vinyl cations. This research constitutes the first example of accessing such valuable chiral frameworks via non-noble metal catalyzed Büchner reaction. More details are discussed in the article by Ye et al. on pages 3299—3304.
