Abstract
Enhancers activate genes through long-range chromatin looping, but how these regulatory elements communicate with gene promoters and trigger transcription has remained unclear. We show that the RNA-binding protein hnRNPK acts as a molecular bridge that connects enhancer–promoter communication with recruitment of RNA polymerase II.
